Friday OT #2 - It's My Safety

Do you have a "safety" or "comfort" TV show that you either watch when you just want a familiar story, or that you've rewatched so many times that you know it by heart?

I think I've rewatched all of Parks and Rec at least four times. Scrubs, The Office, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee - I have seen some episodes maybe a half dozen times each, and I really don't watch much TV at all. I will usually maybe have a new show that I'm watching here and there as I get time, but don't want to be watching it if I'm busy doing other things. I can turn on my "comfort" shows while cleaning something up or checking my phone and not miss anything.

Do you have any comfort or "safety" shows? How did they become that for you - how many times have you watched them?

Enjoyed podding with Coach Fennelly today. Enjoy!

WBB: Updates on the high school seasons for current signees/verbals

2022 -- Shantavia Dawkins (Southwest Academy, Ontario): Her team plays in the top-level Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA), which is a bloodbath, as most (if not all) of the schools are sports-focused prep schools. Her team, which also has top-level recruit Lemyah Hylton (Arizona commit we recruited) and Keira Spencer (who we have offered), is 8-9 in their pool, which gives you an idea of the level of competition. Stats are very incomplete. Pool play is almost done (and Southwest Academy is done with their games). There is some some sort of tournament in March, but I don't know any details -- given the short schedule, I'm guessing all teams will participate.

Ashley Joens Future

What are the chances that Ashley uses her Covid year and comes back next year? The team is GREAT, she is having a fabulous year and you hear how connected the team is. The latest mock draft I saw did not have her in the first round of the WNBA draft so making a team could be tough. I thought I heard she has some class work to finish up to graduate so going over seas next year would be a challenge. We have seen other players announcing that they are returning (Lee @KSU, Prince @ Oregon, Cinziano @ UI are a few) so would Ash decide to do the same. Maybe a "One More Year" chant from the students on Sat to show she is loved.

NCAA Allocations, Final RPI, Final CR

All of these are scheduled to come out sometime today (Thursday 2/24).

Once released, it should be fairly easy to figure out who earned spots for the conference, and how much work the others will have to do to steal those spots.

The names we see (or don't see) in the rankings may also answer questions about some lineups for Tulsa (Schoenfelder/Runyon and Roberts/Moore, for example).

Hey Cyclone Fans! The Cyclone Regional Training Center has updated the website! We have a new 2022 VIDEO that recaps the first 5 years of the Cyclone RTC. It tells you what we have accomplished and what we have in store for the future. The site also provides dates for the RTC 100 in October and summer golf events in Humboldt, Ames, and a new event in Waucoma.

Now is a great time to be involved with the RTC! We will be expanding the ranks of our postgraduate wrestlers to include some of our current athletes -- who will be graduating this spring.

Keep checking back to our website for more information. If you are interested in joining our mailing list or learning more about the Cyclone Regional Training Center, contact Erica Andorf at [email protected].

Huggins, after the game.

Shortly after the game, head coach Bob Huggins sat courtside with Tony Caridi and Jay Jacobs for a postgame radio interview on the Mountaineer Sports Network.

Below are a few quotes from the head coach.

"We didn't do what I asked them to do twice. I told them not to run the corner and get trapped. They never did anything I've asked them to do. I've tried to cover and cover and cover for guys. I'm tired of...My guys before were afraid of not doing what I asked them to do because they knew they would never play again."
Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball head coach T.J. Otzelberger greets West Virginia Mountaineers head coach Bob Huggins before the game at Hilton Coliseum Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, in Ames, Iowa."I don't know what to say. The truth of the matter is, you let your team down by not doing of the right thing. You let the thousands of Mountaineer fans down that wanted to see us win."

Early barrage of three's leads Cyclones to 15th-straight win over Kansas

Where does Brockington rank in the ISU transfer standings right now?

He's easily and without a doubt in the top tier with DeAndre Kane. Marial Shayok, and potential congressman Royce White. But where does he rank out of those 4? I'd put him above Shayok easily right now. I think he's gotta go above Kane right now too, even though his work with developing Morris makes it really tough. Is he above Royce? Think the argument can be made. He's without a doubt a Cyclone legend now though, and if he returns for next season and plays like this he's the best ISU transfer by a mile
