WBB: Cyclones earn pair of transfer commitments for ’24-25 season Sunday

Iowa State women’s basketball got a pair of new additions for the 2024-25 roster on Sunday.

First, former UMass forward Lilly Taulelei announced her commitment Sunday evening.

Shortly after, former Oregon State guard Lily Hansford announced she would be joining the squad as well.

Taulelei, a 6-foot-3 post, averaged 6.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for UMass last season.

Iowa State beat out Nebraska to land the forward, who was also pursued hard by BYU, Mississippi State and Missouri.

The New Zealand native will serve as a supplemental piece alongside Audi Crooks for the Cyclones.

Meanwhile, the team got another guard to diversify its rotation in Hansford.

The Green Bay native in Hansford finished with a 45.3 percent clip (48-106) from the 3-point line a year ago and averaged 5.1 points per game.

The additions bring Iowa State’s roster up to 12 for next season. Hansford has two years of eligibility remaining, and Taulelei has three.
