Former Iowa State walk-ons Caleb Bacon and Drew Surges were officially put on scholarship this week.
Both players have had exceptional years on the field. Bacon recorded a season-high seven tackles against Texas earlier this year, and has totaled 52 tackles this season as a whole. He’s added three sacks through the year, as well.
Surges, meanwhile, stood out during camp over the summer and exploded in relief efforts against Kansas State, recording 11 tackles.
