RECRUITING: Iowa State lands commitment from top 2024 in-state quarterback

Iowa State has its quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class.

Southeast Polk signal-caller Connor Moberly announced his pledge to Iowa State’s program on Saturday. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound three-star prospect is on a visit in Ames this weekend.

Rated as the No. 53 quarterback and No. 11 player in the state of Iowa by the 247Composite, Moberly chose Iowa State over an offer from Northern Iowa plus reported interest from Iowa and Tulane.

Moberly was one of the best quarterbacks in the state last season, completing better than 70 percent of his passes for 1,954 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions, while leading Southeast Polk to the Class 5A state championship alongside 2023 Iowa State running back signee Abu Sama.

This is Iowa State’s fourth commitment in the 2024 cycle and the second in-state player to join the class after Linn-Mar tight end Keaton Roskop. The class is currently rated as the No. 58 class in the country.
