Anderson declares for NFL Draft

Iowa State defensive end MJ Anderson is moving on to his next adventure.

The 6-foot-3, 275-pound St. Louis native announced on Wednesday he’ll forgo his remaining eligibility in order to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. The transfer from Minnesota would’ve had at least one year of eligibility remaining.

Anderson was one of the breakout stars of Iowa State’s 2022 defense, which ranked among the best in all of college football. He appeared in all 12 games to tally 37 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one pass defended and one fumble recovery.

This is Iowa State’s second player to leave the defensive line room this week after backup Jayden Gray announced his decision to transfer.
