WBB: Cyclones move to 2-0, clinch quarterfinals spot

Iowa State’s 3×3 nationals team improved to 2-0 on Saturday morning, dropping Hoopers NY 21-11 in the second round of pool play for the national tournament.

The New York-based squad was made out of former players from around the region, with Mercy College’s Aysha Williams, Robert Morris’ Angela Pace, and Manhattan’s Gabby Cajou taking the floor.

The Cyclones utilized the deep ball once again, connecting on seven long range shots on their way to a win.

The victory gives Iowa State a 2-0 record in pool play, and clinches them a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Iowa State will take the court once again on Saturday (4:10 p.m.) to face off with Athletes Unlimited in the final game of pool play.

Regardless of the result, the Cyclones will play on Sunday morning in the quarterfinals of the tournament at 9:10 a.m. CT.
