Iowa State gained yet another commitment to its 2022 recruiting class on Tuesday.
Tommy Hamann, a three-star edge rusher out of Wayzata, Minn. picked up an offer from Iowa State on Tuesday and made his pledge on the spot. Hamann was previously committed to FCS South Dakota State.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect had committed to South Dakota State in July over an offer from North Dakota. He reportedly received interest from North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Iowa and several other FCS schools.
Now, he’s set to sign with the Cyclones when the early signing period opens on Wednesday.
Hamann earned 2021 Star Tribune All-Metro first-team honors and led his team to the Minnesota State High School quarterfinals.
Hamann is the Cyclones’ 21st commitment of the 2022 class and second defensive line commit of the day, joining Kansas City three-star Dominique Orange.
