Three players in Iowa State’s 2021 recruiting class receive ratings bumps

A trio of new Cyclones have received ratings bumps from the recruiting services.

On Tuesday, Arizona running back Eli Sanders was elevated to four-star status by Rivals while Johnston tight end Tyler Moore and Colorado defensive back Myles Purchase each saw their ratings improve in the most recent 247Sports class rankings update.

Sanders, a Chandler, Ariz. native, who chose Iowa State over offers from Iowa, Boise State and a nearly 10 other schools when he joined the class roughly a week and a half ago, is now considered the No. 18 running back recruit in the 2021 class by Rivals. He’s regarded as the No. 7 player in Arizona by the service.

Moore, who has already in enrolled in Ames, was rewarded for his senior season that saw him solidify himself as one of the most prolific pass catchers in the state by receiving a one-point bump from a 90 rating to a 91 in 247’s recent update. He is considered a four-star prospect and the No. 9 tight end in the country by the service, but remains a three-star in the 247Composite.

Purchase’s jump was slightly more significant as he rose from an 83 rating to an 86 on Wednesday, pushing him up to be in the No. 70 cornerback prospect in the country and No. 8 player in Colorado.

Iowa State’s class, which is most likely complete ahead of the second signing period next month, is regarded as the No. 52 class in the country by 247Composite.
