RECRUITING: Cyclones land top in-state linebacker in 2022 class

The Cyclones’ 2022 recruiting class just kicked off in a major way.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton linebacker Jake Imming announced his commitment to Matt Campbell’s program on Thursday. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound junior was a first-team Class 3A all-state selection this past fall by the Des Moines Register.

Imming is considered the No. 5 player in the state of Iowa and No. 19 inside linebacker in the nation by 247Composite. Rated as the No. 476 player in the 2022 class overall, Imming chose Iowa State over offers from Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas State.

He recorded 49.5 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and a sack this past season while helping the Warriors finish 6-3 on the year.
