RECRUITING: Iowa State lands commitment from 2022 Missouri linebacker

The hot streak for Iowa State’s two most high-profile men’s sports continues.

The Cyclones landed a commitment from Blue Springs, Mo. linebacker Carson Willich on Friday, giving the program its third commit of the 2022 recruiting cycle.

Willich is considered the No. 41 linebacker in the class and No. 27 player in the state of Missouri by 247Composite. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound three-star recruit chose Iowa State over offers from Kansas State, Kansas, Army, Louisville, Minnesota, Vanderbilt, Washington State and others.

Willich is scheduled to officially visit Iowa State the weekend of June 4.

This is Iowa State’s second linebacker commit in the 2022 recruiting class, joining in-state prospect Jacob Imming, who announced his pledge in January. The Cyclones’ 2022 class is currently rated as the No. 41 class in the country by 247.
