Iowa State has been picked to finish fourth in the Big 12.

The Cyclones followed Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas in the league’s preseason poll released on Friday as voted on by the conference media. The Sooners received 80 first-place votes while Oklahoma State and Texas received six and four, respectively.

Iowa State was followed in the poll by Baylor, TCU, Kansas State, West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas.

Iowa State was picked third in last year’s preseason poll before going 7-6 overall and 5-4 in Big 12 play to finish in a four-way tie for third-place in the league’s standings.

Led by third-year starting quarterback Brock Purdy and a host of returners on each side of the ball, the Cyclones are projected to be a top-25 team nationally entering the 2020 football season.
