Cyclones finish off Italy trip with win

VICENZA, Italy – The Iowa State men’s basketball team defeated the Ivory Coast National Team, 98-69, Saturday evening in Vicenza, Italy to finish its Italian Tour with a 3-0 record.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 28-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 59-26 at halftime. ISU connected on 10-of-16 three-pointers in the first half.

The Cyclones cruised the rest of the way, shooting 53.8 percent from the field (35-65) and making 14-of-29 threes. The Cyclones finished with 24 assists.

Solomon Young scored a team-high 17 points to lead five Cyclones in double figures. Rasir Bolton and Prentiss Nixon scored 13 points each, while Tre Jackson tallied 12 points and Zion Griffin added 10 in the win.

Tyrese Haliburton scored eight points and dished out seven assists with just a single turnover.
