RECRUITING: Florida CB makes it five ISU commits in four days

Iowa State has added its fourth 2019 commit of the weekend and sixth total commitment of the week. Florida defensive back Levi Williams announced his pledge to the Cyclones Sunday afternoon on Twitter.

Williams, who is currently not rated by the scouting services, chose Iowa State over offers from West Virginia, South Florida, Toledo, Buffalo and a handful of other FBS programs.

Williams was the Cyclones’ second commit of the day on Sunday after Texas receiver DK Blaylock announced his pledge earlier in the day. They join Florida linebacker Aric Horne and Illinois offensive lineman Darrell Simmons in joining the 2019 class over the weekend.

The Cyclones also added a commitment from 2020 quarterback Aidan Bouman on Thursday. All of those followed California running back Leonard Glass’ commitment to open the week on Monday.

Williams’ commitment gives Iowa State 15 pledges entering the July dead period, which begins on Monday. Iowa State’s class currently rates as the No. 35 class in the country and No. 6 class in the Big 12.
