RECRUITING: Florida CB commits to ISU

Iowa State has picked up its third commitment of the week. Florida cornerback Anthony Johnson Jr. announced his decision to commit on his Twitter on Friday.

The Saint Petersburg, Fla. native chose Iowa State over offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Marshall, Western Kentucky, USF and a few others. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound prospect is Iowa State’s eighth commit in the 2018 class.

The Cyclones also landed commitments from Creston offensive lineman Trevor Downing and Mississippi wide receiver C.J. Bolar this week. Johnson’s commitment moves Iowa State up to No. 33 in the 247 team class rankings.
