Iowa State will host a pair of official visitors in Ames this weekend, including a current commit of an SEC program. It appears as though next week will be the main visit weekend before the early signing period starts on Dec. 20, but here is a look at the two players set to be in Ames on officials this weekend.
Isaiah Lee, Defensive Tackle, La Grange Park, Ill.
Rated as the No. 65 defensive tackle in the class, this 6-foot-2, 280-pound three-star committed to Iowa State in July. He attended camp in Ames and earned an offer a week prior to his commitment announcement.
Matt Campbell was in Illinois to visit Lee earlier this week.
Vincent Gray, Defensive Back, Rochester, Mich.
Gray, considered the No. 54 cornerback in the country by 247Composite, has been on Iowa State’s radar for quite awhile. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect committed to Missouri in July over a handful of other Power 5 offers.
D.K. McDonald visited Gray in Michigan earlier this week leading up to his visit.
One other note
It has been reported through the week that four-star UCLA safety commit Cam’ron Jones and three-star California defensive back Halid Djibril would be visiting this weekend, but I was told on Friday that will not be the case. I know Jones has a playoff game Friday night, but I don’t have any other specifics on the situations at this point.
