RECRUITING: Three-star Florida DB commits to Iowa State

Iowa State has landed a commitment from three-star defensive back V’Lique Carter. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound safety announced his commitment on his Twitter account.

Carter is rated as the No. 133 safety in the country by 247Composite. He chose the Cyclones over offers from Oklahoma, Kentucky, Central Florida and a host of other Division I programs. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native officially visited Iowa State for the Cyclones’ game against Kansas.

Iowa State has 17 commits in its 2018 recruiting class. Carter is the second one from Florida, joining defensive back Anthony Johnson. The Cyclones’ class is currently rated as the No. 56 class in the country and No. 7 class in the Big 12.
