RECRUITING: Horton-Tucker gelling with ISU commits, plans to visit Illinois

Iowa State commits Tyrese Haliburton (second row on left in white sweatshirt), George Conditt (second row in middle) and Zion Griffin (first row in front of Haliburton) sit with Iowa State target Talen Horton-Tucker (second row right of Conditt) during 2017 Hilton Madness on Oct. 13, 2017.

Iowa State’s last major target for the 2018 fall recruiting cycle plans to most likely take one more official visit after his trip to Ames this weekend. Four-star forward Talen Horton-Tucker said he will “probably” visit Illinois next weekend when asked on Friday.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward rated as the No. 109 prospect in the country, per 247Composite, was in attendance for Iowa State’s Hilton Madness event. He sat with Iowa State’s three 2018 commits – Illinois forwards Zion Griffin and George Conditt and Wisconsin point guard Tyrese Haliburton – during the 90 minute event at Hilton Coliseum.

“It’s nice, being around all the guys that are committed is good,” Horton-Tucker said. “I just get along with them, because it’s (two) Illinois guys… It’s nice just coming to school I know it would be good. Gelling with everybody.”

The four-star Chicago native is rated as the No. 28 small forward in the country. He is the No. 4 player in Illinois, directly in front of Griffin (No. 5) and Conditt (No. 6).

Iowa State has one scholarship remaining for the 2018 recruiting cycle.
