I know you guys have been waiting all offseason for this.

Good news: According to ESPN, the Cyclones are ranked 23rd.

I’d say that’s just about perfect too.

My really quick projections for 2016-17: A second place finish in a down Big 12 (compared to the last few years) that includes a better record than last year because of the softer schedule. I think that Steve Prohm will thrive coaching this smart, deeper guard-oriented team.

If that projection holds up, Iowa State will spend most of the year in the top 20.

Men’s basketball media day is next week.
