Texas is a touchdown favorite over the Cyclones

Iowa State (2-5, 1-3) and Texas (3-4, 2-2) both played in rain storms last Saturday. The Cyclones lost to No. 2 Baylor 45-27. Texas on the other hand outlasted Kansas State in a hard fought, 23-9 defensive struggle.

When the Longhorns come to Ames for Saturday night’s Halloween tussle, they will enter Jack Trice Stadium as a seven-point favorite.

Iowa State helped its cause, and the point spread, by showing some life and outscoring Baylor 20-10 in the second half on Saturday.

It’s likely that the Cyclones will be led by a new quarterback – sophomore Joel Lanning – when they take the field on Halloween.

Paul Rhoads will meet the media for his weekly press conference today at 11:30. Stay tuned for that.
