North Dakota State ranked No. 1 in FCS

According to FCS pollsters (the coaches), it really doesn’t matter that North Dakota State will enter the 2014 college football season without its former head coach Craig Bohl. The fact that the Bison will be without 24 seniors from last year’s national title winning team (the program has notably won three in a row) was not an issue for voters either.

On Monday, when the initial FCS poll of the season was released, Chris Klieman’s North Dakota State Bison were No. 1, again.

Of course, the Bison, who defeated Kansas State in Manhattan last season, will invade Jack Trice Stadium on Aug. 30 for a season opening contest vs. Iowa State. The first game of the season will kick off at 11:00 a.m. and will be televised on FOX Sports 1.
