Pollard tweets news of home game for Big 12/SEC Challenge

Jamie Pollard was a tweeting machine on Tuesday afternoon. Iowa State’s athletics director broke some news during his time at the Big 12’s annual meetings in Dallas.

Here’s the first nugget that Pollard dropped.

"Big 12/SEC mb challenge dates and opponents to be released tomorrow. We are excited about our matchup. We get home game in Hilton!"

That’s interesting from the standpoint that Iowa State hosted Auburn in the Big 12/SEC Challenge last season. It’s a surprise for Iowa State too, as the Cyclones were told (per a source) weeks ago that they would be going on the road in 2014.

More from JP…

"Big 12 meetings…all Big 12 men’s basketball games to be on ESPN networks next year (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU & ESPNEWS)"

More good news. This makes sense too. It was the best league in the country last season, after all.

"Big 12 meetings..Big 12 men’s basketball television ratings were up 12% this past year and highest ratings ever."

Also makes sense. Best league in the country. People want to watch.
