Cyclones are No. 1 on ESPN’s BPI

While the new AP and USA TODAY Coaches Polls will be released tomorrow morning, Iowa State basketball did receiving some interesting "polling love" on Sunday morning.

After Saturday’s 73-62 win at Texas Tech, the 13-0 Cyclones now sit at the very top of ESPN’s BPI (Basketball Power Index).

ESPN defines what exactly the BPI is with the following:

The College Basketball Power Index (BPI) is a men’s team rating that accounts for a team’s scores in all D-I games, by location, result, the strength of their opponent, and whether any of their top five players (by minutes per game) was missing.

How it differs from the RPI:

There is a chance that the Cyclones will jump into the top 10 in both polls tomorrow morning. As always, we will keep you updated here at CycloneFanatic.com

The No. 12 Cyclones will host No. 11 Baylor on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
