UCF is playing Houston for a bowl game, as well.

9 teams for 8 spots would mean shipping one of the 6-6 teams to a non-Big 12 bowl as an "at large" -- like Missouri in '11, ISU in '12, or Tech in '17.

Maybe we can get a better bowl like we did with liberty the first time. Who can’t fill their bowls?

Wasn't the Liberty a bowl in 2012 part of the Big 12 bowl package?

What we would deserve though if we lose tomorrow.

Fans, coaches and players could all be home for Christmas though!!
Not sure how many days of additional practice are allowed but that game is just two weeks after the Big 12 championship game. Game matchups will be named after that game.

If you play that 1st Bowl Game Weekend you aren't getting in the full amount of available Bowl Practices. Guessing they would probably only practice like 7-10 days before the game. Plus your dealing with Finals during that time too.

It'll most likely be the bottom choices from ACC, Big Ten, and SEC. Think that Dec. 22-27 window that has Detroit, Annapolis, and Birmingham.

Sun Belt has enough to fill most of the other G5 spots.

Matt Campbell vs. Jason Candle in Detroit would be something.

Seems unlikely at this point that the Big 12 would get two teams in the NY6 unless Texas loses the CCG.

If only Texas makes the NY6...

Alamo takes Oklahoma
Pop-Tarts (f/k/a Camping World) takes OSU or KSU
Texas takes KSU or OSU
Liberty takes WVU; they're 8-4 and Kansas went last year.
Guaranteed Rate takes KU; they're 8-4.

First Responder takes Texas Tech as they're local

Sending us to the Independence.

This assumes WVU and KU take care of Baylor and Cincinnati tomorrow, who are both very bad.

Maybe we can elevate our position if we knock off KSU.

Overall record really doesn’t mean much. It’s about which team brings the biggest economic impact.

If I remember right, ISU has actually jumped an 8-4 team as a 6-6 team before in 2009. ISU over Mizzou for the Insight Bowl. And Mizzou beat ISU. Their fans were pissed

Shadow, to guarantee an SEC team in the Liberty Bowl do we need 1 or both of the 5-6 teams to win
Just one. SEC order goes, whoever makes CFP/NY6. Then Citrus Bowl gets next selection. Then there are 6 “pool” bowls that negotiate from there (and, after that, two lower level bowls who get the leftovers).

Right now there are 9 SEC bowl eligible teams with SCar and Florida to play tomorrow. Assuming Georgia, Bama, and Missouri all get CFP/NY6 bowls, LSU or Ole Miss get the Citrus, you’d have 5 teams for the 6 “pool” bowls if Florida and SCar lose.

It’s still possible the Liberty gets an SEC team and one of the other pool bowls get an at large after negotiation. But most experts aren’t projecting that.
