Mrs. Althetuna and I are the grim reapers of sedans. We buy them. They immediately stop making them.
1. Dodge Shadow.
2. Oldsmobile Intrigue.
3. Mercury Sable.
4. Chevy Impala.

The Sable was an ugly, ugly car but its was rock solid. My son still drives it with 200k miles. My favorite was the intrigue.
I had an Intrigue and it too was a nice car. Very underrated.

I’ve only had three cars and they’ve all been sedans. Latest one is a 2018 Honda accord. Love the car but it’s a pain in the ass for car seats (currently 2). Wife already said we’re getting another suv when we replace it. I’m trying to delay that but I’m guessing by fall we’ll have a new suv lol.

I won't deny the functionality of an SUV compared to a sedan. My wife drives an SUV, and it has uses that my car just doesn't. But for my personal car, I'd pick a sedan every time. It's just so much more fun to drive

I drive a Sonata I cant say its exciting to drive but it works.

Just the way of the world. I grew up in the 80s when every other car on the road was a station wagon.
I think the strangest things in 70s and 80s cars were the number of big ass cars that were coupes. Like just two gigantic, heavy ass doors and a pain in the ass to get into the back seat. My parents had some problem with sedans, so we had a big ass two door Buick.

Lol, 100%. At one point when I was really young we had like a 1975 Chevy Impala. Thing seemed like it was 20 feet long with 2 doors.

One of my first cars was a ‘77 cutlass supreme coupe and the doors were like 5 feet long.

I understand why people choose SUV's. For some it's utility, for some it's the cool factor that automakers have pushed for the last 30 years.

As the owner of sedans over the last 25 years, not sure my next vehicle will be a sedan due to safety concerns. The profile of SUV's and pickups creates visibility issues at intersections and roadways.

I drive a 2011 Highlander so the cool factor is not in play for me.

Prior car was a 2005 Chevy classic sedan. When we had 3 car seats in the back I literally had to wedge the click in car seat between the two boosters. Not sure that was osha approved.

I hate driving any car and would prefer to never do it again.

The Sable that was the Ford Five Hundred twin? I liked those cars a lot. When Ford changed the styling and went back to the Taurus they lost it.

I’m one of those that’s gone crossover, used to have a sadan. Doubt I’ll ever go back, I simply like sitting up higher and not having to bend down to get in a car. I have a family so I need something somewhat large. We were discussing this very topic the other day and realized the only person we’re close with that still has a car is my brother who has an 06’ Impala with 250k miles.

I really wanted a full size sedan but not the Taurus nor the Impala and options were limited. We got an Outback which is essentially a mid sized wagon that is raised a few inches.

I don't like non-sedan cars. Too top-heavy. Too far off the ground. You don't feel like you're driving it when you're that far away from the road and have no sensation of speed to go with it.

I've owned four cars in my life...

'89 Escort
'02 Camry
'13 Elantra
'23 Sonata

I bought the Sonata just in case the model would be discontinued soon enough.

The places my uncle would take us in his older Accord in Colorado make me question the necessity of an SUV to get there, hah.

I’m on my first sedan ever, a Volvo S90, after about 15-20 different vehicles and I’ve had it for around 80k now. The only reason I won’t buy another one are headlights on the trucks and SUVs. I am so over being blinded every time I drive in the dark.

Other than that, I’ve loved it. It’s really comfortable and rides like a cloud. It has more room in the cabin than most SUVs which is important being 6’6” and 320. Good gas mileage commuting 2 hours a day. AWD has been great in bad weather.

The older I’ve got, the more I’ve realized you don’t need a big ass vehicle. I’ve done more with a sedan and a minivan than most will ever do in a truck.

Station wagons were bad ass. My buddies family had one with the 3rd row seat facing backwards and I thought it was the coolest ride ever.

I lived 15 mins from high school and a lot of times I'd end up following a wagon with a rear facing third row. So at 7am i'd have two little kids staring at me on the drive in for 10 mins straight. Never got used to it.

Where they love the governor
I would love to have a sedan but twice a year I have migration north and south and you literally have to take 1/2 your life with you. I have an aging Flex that has more cargo room than most of the midsize (and a lot of bigger) SUV's.

Trying to find something that has close to that cargo capacity without a huge investment and having decent mileage is a challenge. I'm looking at the newly designed Santa Fe. The hybrid looks like not much of a premium over the gas version and rated 35 MPG. That looks like it's in my near future.

And this is when a person knows they are officially "old." The cost of the Santa Fe will be more than I spent for my first house in 1982.

I was born in 1982, and my kids all let me know I'm old, so...
