So nobody gets rings until they graduate?

If you read far enough down in the article, it says that there are some inconsistencies in the policy:

"In an effort to investigate the situation from all sides, we reached out to K-State for an official response on their longstanding protocol in this area and were directed to Bill Snyder, deeming it a "coach issue".

When asked after his weekly Tuesday press conference about his policy on what determines whether a player who leaves the program receives a bowl ring or not, Snyder told GPC, "Graduation." When asked who is in charge of handling the process, Snyder replied, "At the end of the day, it would all come down to me."

It seems Snyder's claim doesn't exactly add up though, as there are plenty of cases who don't reflect the head coach's standard. Breontae Matthews, who graduated and chose to play his final season for North Carolina A&T, is still without his Cactus Bowl ring. Da'Marrio Jackson-Smith, who left for ASA College after his redshirt freshman season, did not graduate but did receive a Texas Bowl ring. The same is true for Kaelin Key, who transferred to Northwest Missouri State after only a year in Manhattan, but arrived with a Texas Bowl ring in hand. Dominique Heath, the talented grad transfer swooped up by Appalachian State this past offseason, is still without his Cactus Bowl ring."

seems more like negligence than intent as there doesnt seem to be consistency on who gets their rings or not. I'm sure its a more difficult task to get 100+ rings sized ordered and delivered than we think but it just seems like the staff and AD dont put much priority into ring delivery and the results show.

Not saying that I'd necessarily support such a policy. Just saying that if you are going to have such a policy, then you should definitely make it clear to everyone.

Agree. Do whatever you like if you run the program, just be consistent. Reading this it looks very much like Snyder was either playing favorites, holding grudges, or just overlooking stuff that should have been delegated to someone else anyway. Not a good look in any event.

In some ancient societies, wealthy people were often buried with their gold because they wanted to take their possessions with them in the afterlife.

Some things don't always skip a generation.
Maybe in 1000 years somebody will dig up Ol’ Bill and put him in a traveling display and make a lot of money.
