Interesting note about NC State making their first Elite 8 since 1986 - when they beat Iowa State in the Sweet 16 in Kansas City. The Wolfpack ended up losing to Kansas in the Elite 8. I cannot even imagine how rocking Kemper would have been for an Iowa State vs. KU Elite 8 game!

They are fun to watch because they have skilled bigs and their guards are very steady. Great player/ball movement on offense.

I can stomach a couple ACC underdogs if Duke falls tonight.
Not Clemson. F Brownell.

It is only the 2nd time in tournament history that three #2 seeds lost in the Sweet Sixteen. The other time was 1982 (Memphis, Minnesota, Missouri). Never have all 4 lost in the same Sweet Sixteen.

The only times there were no #2 seeds in the Elite Eight were 1990 and 1999.

True. Iowa State advanced to Sweet 16 by beating U-M . ... Then ISU had opportunities vs. NC State, couldn't close the deal.

Seems familiar.

Duke is taller than Houston like Illinois was taler than ISU. I find it odd that the top 2 teams in the Big XII have a size disadvantage in their Sweet 16 games.
