New site features added 9/16

As previously announced, I took the site offline for about a half hour Friday night to add some new features and system enhancements to the forum. Everything went smoothly and you will start to see some of the new features visible over the coming weeks as I make sure no issues exist.

Also of note, I have made it so you will always have the left column on the page, regardless of where you are on the site. Previously the left column was only visible on the homepage but it made it so some features weren't always visible and it was also somewhat difficult to navigate the site easily.

Please let me know if you experience any problems that were not visible before this system enhancement period.

That's really cool, Jer! Like the poll/buddy list/forums. Really like having buddy list and polls on tool bar.

Not a huge deal... just letting you know that it takes two clicks of the "Back" button to go back... where as before it didn't... I don't care if you fix this or not... just bringing it to your attention if you didn't already know.

Where do you get the two clicks? Is it from the homepage you click on a topic and then try to click Back to go back to the homepage? What browsers are you using?

Thanks for the headsup.

Another thing... I can't get version 5 to remain as my primary version... I changed it in my user options... and then I change via the box at the bottom left corner of the site... then when I click on a link... it changes back to verion 1.

Try it now and let me know if it still goes back to the old style. You may possibly need to clear your cookie or cache to get it to work.

I'm running version 5, but Norton Password Manager keeps loading that it's version 3 down there. Are you running that program, by any chance, DBronco?
