Sirens going off near us now. Park Avenue in Des Moines just south of Water Works.

I see the tornado warning boundaries end just south of Ames. Watching the coverage on KCCI from my Frederiksen Court apartment because my cable channels keep going out.

The downfall of sirens. Most counties don't have the ability to pick and choose which ones to activate leading to an all or none situation.

Wind and heavy rain in Grimes. Plenty of thunder. To the north looks much worse from the view I can see. Very low clouds.

Ed just said Madrid doesn't even have sirens. How is this possible?

Still mostly lightning in Ames. Little thunder and rain, but nothing too intense, yet.
