Back in the 70’s, ISU had a pair of backs called the WW Express. Jim Wingeder and Mike Williams. Both backs ran for over 1000 yards in the same season. Sadly Mike has passed.

I was at all of the home games when the WW Express was at Iowa State. Truly something special.

Mike suffered a significant knee/leg injury prior to the start of the 1976 season and would have been paired with Dexter Green at TB on one of ISU's best ever teams (along with the 2020 team). His injury along with QB Wayne Stanley's late season injury probably cost ISU their first FB conference title and a berth in the Orange Bowl.
