Anyone know what happened here? Didn't seem like they were struggling, have been closed for a few weeks now.

Unfortunate. Some of the specials were good, but maybe there just isn't the market for 18" pies in Ames.

I liked the pizza, but their pasta and sandwiches weren't bad for a change of pace either.

I liked that place but didn't get food from there very often, it was really only worth it if you were getting the 18'' pizza anyway. If they had good deals on a 12'' or 14'' pizza I think I would have bought from them more often.

There are already too few places to eat in West Ames, I think a certain land owner is making development difficult for food joints.

Thats too bad, I liked their pizza it was a bit different from others in town (NY style). They seemed to do good business, so I would be surprised if it was something to do with that.

On another note, I have heard a rumor there is another restaurant going to be built on the old Wallaby's location.
