Whenever Heft calls out refs by name, I automatically imagine him waiting for the moment when the official is standing right in front of him or walking by.

I don’t mind the homer crap.

But technically they are VERY BAD on calling games. You never know where the ball is. You can’t tell if the play was good or bad for Iowa.

Gary is a terrible radio play-by-play guy for football and basketball. Especially basketball. He doesn’t keep up with the action. He could do TV but is way to slow for radio, even 25 years ago when he was young.

Growing up in eastern Iowa in the 80s I was partial to The Big Shoe, Ron Gonder.

Podolak was yelling into the mic "It's third and 7, this should be a touchdown!!" Jake Knott intercepts a pass in ridiculous fashion. Back to Eddie "Oh my God...."

I have never laughed so hard. That was just gold. Man Rhoades and Chiz had a penchant for beating those guys.
