RECRUITING: Iowa State earns commitment from 2025 in-state DB Ethan Stecker

What are Dylan’s measurables? Is he as big and fast as Ethan? Plus, the hoks could take anybody at WR, their 6th yr qb they cheated to get is done after this yr, and the rest of their qb room transferred. So there’s that.

1)This 2) He has a higher probability of being in the line-up all year 3) You're investing in the loyal wrestlers already in your program 4) You're not spending $500,000 on a super injury prone wrestler for a year

The B1G is by far the toughest conference in wrestling. They either spend a half million $$$ risking it by letting him wrestle or just throw him into the line-up right before the B1G tourney. Either way, it's a suspect at best way to run a program. We all know the AJ Ferrari circus would have...

I realize my bias, but I don't see what Iowa is doing as just "filling in some holes". If reports about how they are doing it (tampering) and the amount of $$$ being thrown around are true it is a house of cards that will eventually come crashing down. Iowa wrestling is reaching Texas football...

Fast forward 10-20 yrs. I see this approach Iowa is taking to buy a team every year backfiring. Fans don't don't bond with athletes when you have a turn style approach. Recruiting a kid out of high school, seeing them develop year after year, finally getting their chance, and succeeding is how...

    2024-2025 Wrestling Lineup

This is where I am at, too. I expect Osmanny to be the guy with the potential to score the most points in March, but I don't expect him to get into the line-up until right before Big XII's. Prior to that the coaches should send him to every open tournament they can find and force him to choose...

RECRUITING: Iowa State earns commitment from 2025 in-state DB Ethan Stecker

The kid is 6'4", runs a 4.4 40, and won the 2A 110 H hurdles. You cannot coach size and speed and he has both. There are some great football players in this state that aren't coached very well at the HS level and/or aren't in a position to get noticed. Love this commitment.

    2024 Transfer Portal Tracker (Wrestling)

I agree with you. I thought the Ferrari train was headed straight to IC until Beth shut it down. I believe behind closed doors she told TnT absolutely not, at least with AJ anyway.

The hoks are dicking round with the Ferrari's and we land this guy. You can tell a lot about people by who they associate with.

    2024-2025 Wrestling Lineup

From what I have heard about the new Cuban at 125 I fully expect him to be in the line-up at the end of the year. I could see KD sending him to every Open in the first couple of months to get mat wrestling experience but I fully expect him to be the guy going into Big XII's.

    2024-2025 Wrestling Lineup

Paniro's best spot is at 49. He loses much of his strength and explosive advantage at 57. Plus, he appears to be 5''5" tall so I am not sure how that will translate against bigger guys.
