Double header versus Angels today. I like the Yanks in the opener with Gil. No so much in the night game with Stromen. 6.82 ERA in last 7 games. Woof!

Sad to watch Angels with no Ohtani and now no Mike Trout.

I’m not that sad.

Got the first one. Gil gets his 12th.

Threw up a white flag after 3 in the second and it turned into a "Don't waste your bullpen game". They skipped the hapless Stromen in the rotation and called up Warren who pitched like Stromen. Yanks were never in the game. Starting pitching is a mess.

Playing in the rain again tonight. Tomorrow looks iffy for getting a game in. Maybe another double header Saturday.

Cortez, 6.90 ERA last seven starts. :puke: I can't believe they are tied for 2nd best record in MLB with Orioles with how downright awful the starters have been.

And another rainout and another double header. Think Eovaldi out duels Cole in the opener and with Stromen going in the 2nd game the Yanks have no shot. Rangers win both.

Guess it's WNBA fan safe for her to wear a Yankee hat since Indiana has no major league MLB team. And guessing she had no problem getting a ticket! These sidebars to me are just fun stuff. What I am not a fan of is them grabbing celebrities and putting them in the booth for a couple of innings to talk about their latest movie etc. Okay, maybe if it were the White Sox playing the A's.

It never came!

...it was a late-bullpen-meltdown instead. But still got the W. Barely.

Was shocked Stromen pitched well, although he was just on the edge it seemed to me. But, woof, Leiter was awful and Holmes tried very very hard to get his 8th blown save. Good news is Holmes threw 45 pitches and will be unavailable for a few days. I REALLY hate him as a closer. Bad news is everyone that doesn't suck out of the pen is on the IL so not sure who closes now. Going to be an entirely different group next season. Maybe they sign Loáisiga and hope he is back from Tommy John. They would be insane to sign Holmes back after he goes FA.

Not kidding. I tuned in and than turned it off in the 4th. Even at 2-1 I was pretty sure the Yanks would lose after 8 LOB in 4 innings. Woof. Must have gone really sideways after that.

Edit: Finally checked box score and...............

Maybe not as bad a trade as "Walking Boot" Bader but the everyday player acquisition ran into extremely bad luck. Jazz Chisholm is heading for the IL and maybe surgery which will end his season and a good part of next year. If he needs surgery that will pretty much eat up most of his contract time.

"In 14 games for New York, Chisholm is batting .316 (18-for-57) with one double, seven homers and 11 RBIs." - MLB

And the two relievers they traded for have been brutally bad as soon as they donned the jersey in NY.

Yanks acquired Enyel De Los Santos from Padres at the trade deadline two weeks ago. Today they DFA'd him. That maybe the quickest buyer remorse ever.
