As a former college offensive lineman I take that one personally. Some of them may have guts but I can tell you they are very athletic. There is way more skill and technique to being an O-lineman than people realize.

I'm with ya, if you can carry 330 pounds, pull around a line, and flat back a middle linebacker than you are pretty athletic.

I won't argue NBA is more popular, this thing is about what sports is better, not which is more popular. I was just saying NBA is boring.. the NBA regular season is worse than NHL regular season.

I even like the NBA and i'll admit the regular season is horrible.

I don't believe you. did you name your kid Kobe?

I guess I don't see why more people would watch the NBA if it was so boring.

No dog's name is Brett. After the greatest QB of all time

There is plenty wrong with your statement but I will agree the NBA Finals' ratings are higher than the Stanley Cup Finals. About a 1.5:1 ratio this year when the Stanley Cup was on network TV.

However, citing ratings as an argument for which product is better? Poor form insurance man. Poor form.

Hockey is a fringe sport in the United States and will likely remain there for a long time. However, that does not make it the worst sport out there.

I have a hard time believing it's only 1.5 to 1 ratio this year. Both sports are up in ratings. It's the highest NBA finals in over 5 years isn't it?

This is also the highest Stanley Cup Final in years. For comparison what I saw was about a 9.1 for the Game 6 of the Stanley Cup on Wednesday and a 12.x for the NBA Finals on Thursday.

NBA Finals pulled in about a 16.0 last night, which is just crazy.

Nascar is not a sport. It sucks too I might add. I want to get one of these shirts:

Soccer is the WORST sport then. And it blows big time.

Again, not about viewership. for example, team handball is one of the sweetest games i've ever seen (olympics), but nobody watches it...

NASCAR isn't a sport in my mind. It's more of an event or a spectacle. That being said, I love all three. But NASCAR is the one I'm most ashamed of...

You can be fat and non-athletic in football. They are called linemen. Just sayin.

And seriously--you know the name of a bowling announcer? Not cool dude.

Jim Gaffigan is a popular stand-up comedian and in one of his stand ups he slams bowling. I don't know any bowling announcers

I hate soccer defenders trying to say its a matter of intelligence. I understand soccer just fine. The bottom line is the sport spends an overwhelming majority of its time with nothing happening. The average goals per match of a FIFA event is about 2, for comparison NHL is 7.

this is the matter of preference. I can see the Americans want to see results (scores) immediately: that's fine. On the other hand, some people in the rest of the world might say: football takes so much time and everything is choreographed while soccer is not. How about baseball ? For certain people, it's just a huge waste of time. NASCAR and Indy ? Cars running around the loop for so many times. Golf ? The majority of the time spent by the golfers is probably walking, instead of hitting the balls, right ?

To say that the soccer spends an overwhelming majority of its time with nothing happening is not correct, unless you are referring to goals.

I don't like when soccer defenders say it's a matter of intelligence: every sports need intelligence, from archery to wrestling. It's always a matter of preference.

I appreciate any sports. I don't hate any particular sports - every sport will have its own supporters and detractors. Take lacrosse: it's really popular in the east coast, but almost no one plays it here in Midwest or in the west coast. how about Cricket ? Anyone in Asia cares about Ice Hockey ? No ! Anyone outside the US and Canada cares about football ? overwhelming majority will say no.

i read somewhere that the NFL in a three hour broadcast only has like 11 minutes of actual game play.

I like to kid the soccer nuts, and even though I don't enjoy watching soccer, I can appreciate the coordination and athleticism it takes to play the sport at a high level. Same goes for hockey. But NASCAR? I don't see any entertainment value nor athleticism in the drivers.
