Okay, I don’t disagree. But it’s been that way forever and it’s not changing… so either deal with it or tune out.

Believe it or not it’s more severe in youth soccer. Our goalie touched the ball about 2 inches outside the box about 10 minutes into the first game at state 2 years ago in a bang bang play. That’s a red card and he was actually banned the rest of the tournament, which was 3 games minimum and potentially more.

That is really stupid. That would be like kicking football players out of the game for face mask penalties or being an ineligible receiver down field. Or kicking basketball players out of the game for goaltending.

And nowhere in football does one team have to play down 1 man (or more).

No, it’s denial of a goal scoring opportunity. It’s more like chasing down a running back who broke away with a scooter.

You only get a handful of true scoring chances in soccer and a keeper who takes one away by handling the ball outside the PA deserves to be sent off.

Where were the VAR officials from. I understand they are the ones that wanted the official to review the play. Once it went to review, it was no foul or a red card.
