As do a lot of people. Look at the numbers from the nba finals and compare them to the nhl finals. Remember there is a reason that the nhl finals are on versus. Nobody cares about hockey in the US (unless it's their team from their city)

Stop peeking through my curtains

Shockingly I don't own any Laker or Kobe apparel. True story

I won't argue NBA is more popular, this thing is about what sports is better, not which is more popular. I was just saying NBA is boring.. the NBA regular season is worse than NHL regular season.

I even like the NBA and i'll admit the regular season is horrible.

I don't believe you. did you name your kid Kobe?

My personal list of worst sports:

1) NASCAR - enough said

2) Bowling - Listen to Jim Gaffigan on bowling and I'm sure you'll agree

3) Golf - you can be old, fat, and nonathletic and still be good... just like in NASCAR, not a "true sport"

4) Baseball/softball - America's past time is nothing to brag about, if people complain about the "lack of action" in football then they must HATE baseball.

My favorite sports/sports that require REAL athletes:

1) American Football

2) Basketball

3) Soccer

Hockey and Wrestling require real athletes I'll admit but I personally don't like them.

You can be fat and non-athletic in football. They are called linemen. Just sayin.

And seriously--you know the name of a bowling announcer? Not cool dude.

His dog.

Well sitting in a chair pushing a pedal and turning a wheel doesn't constitute a sport, so you got that one knocked off your list.

I'd put my money on women's softball.[/QUOTE]

Is there another kind?

Being from Souixland, I'm surprised you don't know this. Men's fastpitch used to be HUGE in the midwest. Then, along came slowpitch. Fat, lazy ***** who bastardized the game. That, and it's not easy to pitch underhand. The crop of pitchers dried out.

Fastpitch softball is one of the most difficult sports around, and it deserves a lot of respect because of that. I was an above average baseball player, and decided to play fastpitch instead of semi-pro baseball (when I say semi-pro, I mean one of those kinda-rec-league baseball things) when I was done, because my old man played fastpitch.

Talk about challenging. Those guys are throwing from an arm slot you don't see in baseball, and because of that, they can make the ball move in all four directions (including up), instead of 3 (most can only make a baseball move in 2 directions. Fernando Valenzuela and the knuckleballers excluded). Not only that, but they are so damn close, the time for you to react is so much shorter (milliseconds shorter, but in baseball/softball, that's a lot of time).

Anyway, as mentioned...women's softball is not even close to the worst sport around.

There is plenty wrong with your statement but I will agree the NBA Finals' ratings are higher than the Stanley Cup Finals. About a 1.5:1 ratio this year when the Stanley Cup was on network TV.

However, citing ratings as an argument for which product is better? Poor form insurance man. Poor form.

Hockey is a fringe sport in the United States and will likely remain there for a long time. However, that does not make it the worst sport out there.

If you are going to include NASCAR, then you have to include Poker, which is easily the worst "sport" ever. If you understand soccer, it is fun to watch. Hockey is OK when nothing else is on.
The NBA is good during the playoffs, but watching a regular season NBA game makes the Kardashian show look like good TV.
The trump card are womans sports, easily the worst thing ever.

you act like it's hard to understand. Most 5 year olds do so that's why they play it. Not hard to grasp the game!

I love you.

The NBA is awful IMO.

I've watched hockey, soccer and NASCAR within the last month but haven't watched the NBA since about '94.

Five year olds know next to nothing about soccer. If you have the same understanding as they do, it's no wonder you don't like it. They don't call it the 'beautiful game' for nothing.

most 5 year olds play baseball, basketball and other rec league sports. Would you say they know the best way to destroy a 4-3-3 probably not, just like most 5 year olds don't throw curve balls, or understand the triangle offense.

I hate soccer defenders trying to say its a matter of intelligence. I understand soccer just fine. The bottom line is the sport spends an overwhelming majority of its time with nothing happening. The average goals per match of a FIFA event is about 2, for comparison NHL is 7.

exactly. explaining soccer to people that didn't grow up with the sport is like trying to explain actuarial science to third grader. They just give you that empty look on their face, call you a name, then go back to whatever horrible Jerry Bruckheimer movie they were watching.

I don't know about that. I didn't grow up with the game, and I understand it... It's just not fast paced enough for me to put it as a sport i follow closely. I think that's why people don't like it, even if they understand the game.

As a former college offensive lineman I take that one personally. Some of them may have guts but I can tell you they are very athletic. There is way more skill and technique to being an O-lineman than people realize.
