Why is everyone so down on Thursdays Game?

Normally bobble heads never end up that flattering for people, but this makes Gesell look much better than he does in real life.

Is this his high school senior class picture? LOL

I think we should give these out to all the Hok fans this Thursday:

Hawkeyes are depressed.

Cyclones have bigger goals this season than defeating depressed hawkeyes.

Man, reading this board, listening to sports radio, podcasts, friends, co workers, etc. nobody is excited for this game it seems?

Tickets are going unsold on here and stubhub.

We have a chance to pummel our in state rival at home. Is everyone preparing the nut cups? Is it because of no Fred? Is it our friends to the east doing so well in Football? A hangover from our football season?

Just seems so strange for the number 4 team in the nation.

I had my tickets on the ISU ticket exchange for less than 12 hours and they were sold for way more than I ever expected....Just got lucky. I went to sell them on the board here to be certain it was a cyclone but they were already sold and I didn't even know it.

EMPLOYEE: Boss, we've been working on this Gessell bobble head for weeks and we can't come up with one that does not look like Gollum. We're worried about copyright infringement.

BOSS: Look, we've got to come through for the Hawkeyes here. They've run out of pizza, t-shirt, and rally towel promotions. Grab the Jess Settles bobble head and call it good.

I think I know what happened here...the OP made a simply mistake.

He meant to say that everyone is "down" with this game. Then, upon re-reading his title (and being lazy as he is), chose to stay with the mistake and write his post accordingly. Here is what he meant to type.

We have a chance to pummel our in state rival at home. Is everyone preparing their red solo cups? Is it because of no snow? Is it our friends to the east who know we will win? Not having a hangover from going to the bar?

Just seems so awesome for the number 4 team in the nation!

This.

The game worries me to. Iowa is playing lose of late with nothing to lose, a lot to win Thursday by knocking off numbers 2 and 4. After ISU/Buffalo and watching the Iowa game on Monday, i'm convinced that this game is no gimmie.

I don't understand this. Yes, Buffalo kept it close for a while, but for goodness sake we won by 21 points! So many people are acting like we aren't that good because the game was close for 30 minutes. There are so many downer fans here.

I for one am extremely excited for this game! However, I can see where the OP might be coming from. When was the last time we were this much better that EIU? I think a lot of fans are worried that they will play out of their *** and could somehow hang around with us. If it was not for the rivalry aspect I would bet on a 20 point win but it is a little unsettling with what "we have to lose." I put in quotes because in the grand scheme of things this game means nothing for us but means a lot to them...and when was the last time we were in that position?

I like the game but have no clue why we give them a guaranteed sellout at Carver every other year for no reason. We should be playing 3-for-1's with Iowa. Three games at Hilton for every one at Carver. No doubt in my mind Barta would love to accept; he can't afford to lose Iowa's Super Bowl.

We have UNI later this month and they are our premier instate opponent.

We really should try to play UNI every year and rotate Iowa and Drake every other year. Better competition that way.

I think it's because a win over Iowa isn't that exciting. Not sure why we continue to schedule them.

I'm a little surprised you guys came up empty on your fishing expedition

I'm guessing you surround yourself with Iowa fans if you think there's no energy for basketball.
