Why is everyone so down on Thursdays Game?

I'm concerned about the game. All the pressure is on Iowa State, and Iowa was absolutely humiliated last year.

Also, **** Iowa.

I think it's because a win over Iowa isn't that exciting. Not sure why we continue to schedule them.

What the **** is that thing?!

Eh, not so just my tickets. I see it from others people post too. I'm not to worried about that I'll gladly be in Hilton to cheer on, just didn't realize when I got them it was a Thursday, still thought it was a Friday game, much easier to swing. I do wish it was still on a Friday, great way to start the weekend off.

Umm, it's been 36 years since I graduated, but even then Thursday night WAS the beginning of the weekend.
Dang whipper-snappers

I dont know that there's anyone 'down' on this game, but if youre asking why there's not much hype about it, it probably has to do with the fact that we have many more bigger games ahead than this one will be. Beating iowa is always fun, but we still have 8 conference games against ranked opponents plus Cincinnati and TAMU ahead, and thats just in the regular season. Its understandable that there's not going to be much hype from our end when we have 15-20 bigger\more important games ahead.

And from the iowa side, there's a lot of disinterest in basketball since theyre not as good plus because of the success of their football team.

Im amped, but this game worries me. I thought we would lose three non-con games season when the schedule came out. This one, Texas AnM and either Cincy or UNI IMO. I hope they're playing at a much higher level than what we saw Monday.

Man, reading this board, listening to sports radio, podcasts, friends, co workers, etc. nobody is excited for this game it seems?

Tickets are going unsold on here and stubhub.

We have a chance to pummel our in state rival at home. Is everyone preparing the nut cups? Is it because of no Fred? Is it our friends to the east doing so well in Football? A hangover from our football season?

Just seems so strange for the number 4 team in the nation.

tickets are going unsold because people want insane prices on a message board populated by young adults.

This.

The game worries me to. Iowa is playing lose of late with nothing to lose, a lot to win Thursday by knocking off numbers 2 and 4. After ISU/Buffalo and watching the Iowa game on Monday, i'm convinced that this game is no gimmie.

I dont get excited for things that happen during the week generally until it happens.

I like the game but have no clue why we give them a guaranteed sellout at Carver every other year for no reason. We should be playing 3-for-1's with Iowa. Three games at Hilton for every one at Carver. No doubt in my mind Barta would love to accept; he can't afford to lose Iowa's Super Bowl.
