What is your favorite Olympic moment?

With the Olympics just a few weeks away I was wondering what might be your favorite moment.

I think one of my favorites is now part of a commercial that has been airing lately.

Seriously, there are way too many for me to list.

I have an unfair advantage here. In 1984, I worked for the concessions and novelty company handling the sales at the Los Angeles Coliseum and Sports Arena. So, I was around the 16 days of the track and field competition at the Coliseum, and the boxing competition at the Sports Arena. Plus, the Coliseum had the opening and closing ceremonies.

Two main events I remember, although I cannot remeber the names. But the female long-distance runner for the U.S. that was tripped by the runner from South Africa I believe......can't remember the name. And, just the opening ceremonies. It was an incredible experience.

It's the Olympics, it's on TV all over the world. It might not be HD and you may have to watch, listen in a foreign language. The team sports it may show just that countries athletes but for swimming and track and field it will show athletes from other countries.

Me, I hated the dream team. I think they ruined the Olympics, as an event.

I can't name a single moment, but I do have a favorite comment - At the rowing medal ceremony for the 2004 Olympics: "Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew."
