Recommendations for water heater repair in Ankeny? Pilot light went out and I can't get it re-lit after several attempts. Not interested in tutorials on replacing gas control valves or thermocouples. Just technician recommendation, please.

Thanks!

Psychlone, for this issue you are having just call any water heater repair companies. Seriously, all places are going to charge you the exact same amount due to this issue being so simple to fix. It is the flux capacitor that has been damaged and lost voltage (it proves there is a flame and allows the gas valve to open to light the burners).

Before you call any company please drain the water out of it with the drain valve (you should see a water spigot). Call the company up and tell them that your problem is the flux capacitor failed which blew out the pilot light. I was a HVAC technician for awhile, I have had experience since 1985 (you can mention this too).

You're welcome.

I second 72 degrees. Owners are a great family and they do a nice job sponsoring ISU athletics.

Went with Green's as I've had trouble with 72 degrees in the past. 72 degrees sent a rookie tech out for a furnace issue at our old house, and after his second failed visit they finally sent someone who knew what they were doing.

Green's was great, for what it's worth. Called at 7AM, they were here in about an hour for a non-emergency call. Extremely polite, told me exactly what they were doing and why, then gave me a detailed run-down on how everything looked on the unit.

Has anyone used 72 Degrees for an Air Conditioner inspection?

Recently bought a house in Ankeny, but obviously too cold to inspect the AC.
