They are having a race between London and Oslo, and he is taking Spunk to stay awake. I love the fact if you drive a Maclaren Mercedes at top speed, it will take 19 minutes to go through a tank of gas. 21 gallons. I love this show.

When I watched that episode last Monday, I assumed Spunk was one of the 'legal stimulates' that you see near the check outs at truck stops. I don't recall any of the names, but I've seen these herbal stimulates marketed towards truck drivers at some truck stops.
Best show on TV, IMO. I have a hard time watching it on BBC America, though. I always have to grab it elsewhere to see it in it's entirety.
Apparently it's supposed to be halfway decent. The comments that I heard online from the pilot filming indicated that it is very much in the spirit of the original, it's just that the cast needs a little bit of time to develop and meld as a unit, which is to be expected.
Throw in Top Gear Australia, and there could be a lot of Top Gear to be seen pretty soon.
