this came up in the big 12 offices and i think the only place to move it was ESPNU.

not sure if they will or not.

On ESPN's website it still is blank under TV, it has been that way for a week or two now. I'm pretty sure when I looked at our schedule on ESPN's website at the start of the year it was listed as ESPN+. I'm not really sure where they would move it to at this point, but maybe they're in the process of doing something.

ESPN + is National. ESPN schedules big games, and games with dedicated fan bases on + for years now - because they want to drive subscriptions and retention. Lots of KU and ISU basketball games on + for that reason.

I think this conversation has been going on for 5 years now. Do you think it will make it a decade? I’m betting yes.

I wonder which one has more reach? ESPNU typically requires a sports package tied add on to cable or streaming services. Meanwhile lots of people have plus through the Disney package deal.

ACC (ESPN)/SEC (ESPN) Challenge takes up the majority of the slate that night.

4:00 ESPN2 - Oklahoma at Louisville (WBB)

6:15 ESPN - Alabama at UNC
6:15 ESPN2 - Virginia at Florida
6:15 ESPNU - Syracuse at Texas A&M (WBB)

8:15 ESPN - Auburn at Duke
8:15 ESPN2 - Texas at NC State
8:15 ESPNU - DePaul at Texas Tech

This is tired. ESPN + is national. It’s 2024 almost 2025. My grandma is 92 and she has the internet and manages to use Netflix, the ****, and yttv successfully.
It’s not about us on here accessing it, but more the fact that now it will get a fraction of the viewers nationally as it would have on ESPNs regular network channels.

Like I said, personally this has no affect to me viewing. It goes to exposure. Easier for a possible recruit to see a game highlighted by the flagship channels.

The ESPN+ games are generally set in stone no matter the matchup.

It's happened before.

Two years ago ISU/KU in Lawrence was on it.

Recruiting still went fine because recruits probably have about 1,037 other factors in their decision that aren't the result of an early December game.

A possible recruit wouldn't watch our game because its on ESPN+ instead of ESPN?? .. Come on now...

I wouldn't add that to your concerns. No one under the age of 20 (30?) watches TV anymore. It's all youtube, tick tock, social media etc.

Maybe a recruit's grandpa would be annoyed, however.
