Looks like a big upgrade. Hopefully it as a long life of respectability as well as functionality.
Maybe we'll be like UT and strike oil in the process.
I think the moment the fans see this in the fall with the new sound system it'll be like that first time you watch a game in HD in 5.1 surround sound after watching a 25" tube TV your whole life. You stand there weeping in joy.
The 14th largest in the country at 2,862 square feet. This is HUGE for Iowa State.

Could someone make a mock-up of this new scoreboard design with the bowled south end? I think once the south gets bowled in it will make this "massive" structure look much more in place. The more I look at it i like it. Thought it should be lowered another 10 ft or so but if it is for wind drift and the possibility of getting hit by a football im ok with it. It's going to be crazy looking up that high for replays tho.

I love it! It's much more of a big-league look for us. We obviously don't havea perfect place for it, but this is really as good as any. I love it.
Looks great. Overall it is more than I expected. I do agree it would fit in a bit better if they lowered it some.

It will look just fine in real life. I think the animated look makes it look a little odd or awkward in the renderings, but in real life I expect the support beams to be colored more like the rest of the Jacobsen Building and then all of it will work really well together. I think it looks great, and the place will look much more big-time from the outside as well with that thing hovering over the Jake.
I blame some of the resistance on the fact that the renderings are pretty low quality. We have posters on here that probably could have made better drawings. Seriously.
Just wait until this thing is built and we see it in real life. Then you can feel free to complain all you want. (Although I suspect no one will...)

I'm not sure you are reading that chart correctly. You have the square footage right but place the size over Pitts'. I'm guessing you are doing that because they use a pro stadium, but if you use that logic you have to take out Miami's also as they use a pro stadium. So based purely on just college stadiums, this one would rank 13th.
