Seems like anyone I’ve heard having a reaction had previously had COVID (of varying degrees). I wonder if the vac is spiking a still increased level of proteins/antibodies.
There isn't as much anecdotal evidence available about the Jansen yet (growing every day). For the the 2-shotters, it definitely seems common for someone who has already been infected to have a reaction on Shot 1, whereas it is more common for someone to have a more significant reaction to shot 2 if they haven't been known to be previously infected.

And the severity of reaction appears to be an individual thing, perhaps linkked in part to the robustness of the subject's immune system. But there are too many variables involved for these simple observations to be more than just simple observations. I will say that I think there are many many incidences of "reactions" where the subject was not known to have been previously infected (for what that is worth).

tl:dr summary: I am not making iron clad pronouncements about anything and will yield the floor to those possessing better information.

1st Moderna had crazy sore arm, fatigue and headache for 24hrs, soreness lasted a couple days. 2nd dose Thursday and didn't look forward to it. Same intense arm soreness but nothing else. I took tylenol for a (likely) unrelated headache about 6 hrs in and IDK if that killed the reaction or what. I was sure after the 1st that 2nd would suck. Spouse has had his 1st, soreness only if he poked the injection site.

I’ve only had my first dose of Moderna. For me it was this plus a low grade fever. Had my first dose on Friday afternoon, and by the evening I was crashed in the recliner. Saturday I was fatigued, low grade fever, and body aches. By Sunday I was starting to feel better, but still had no energy and my arm still hurt. Really felt like a minor flu. But better than dealing with COVID.

I usually get chills/aches from the flu shot.
Moderna Covid shot gave me a headache and I felt like I had drank coffee hungover. Lasted about a day.

Also have a couple of lymph nodes that were fired up for a few days which is pretty normal.

I get around
Curious about how many signed up for the "vsafe" side-effect/reaction reporting system from the CDC. I did, and they text a link to a site to report how you are feeling each day after the first shot then each day for a week after the second shot. After that it's once a week.

Have only had first Moderna. I didn’t even realize they had poked me and had no reaction at all. Had worse reactions to flu shot.

Husband had no reaction with either Moderna. Got his second in January. One of his coworkers did have fatigue on her second one. Hoping my second goes as well, easy day to remember, 4/20.

My first shot the injector hardly said anything and was just like 'that's it' and I hardly noticed.

2nd shot I noticed the poke but the injector was high strung and kept asking everyone if they were nervous, several reminders not to move the arm, etc.

It's like the Mindfulness coach who has to tell you how stressed and anxious you are so you need mindfulness.

My brother listens to police scanner 24/7/365. He says lots of folks call 911 with bad vaccine reactions. On that basis, he decided against getting the jab. I got my first jab of Pfizer, don't really feel like getting the second, especially since I read that it doesn't work against the new 'South African' variant that is making the rounds.

That's not true.

AB response has been lower but fine and T-Cell response has been shown to respond to all variants in small studies.

And 'breakthrough' cases have been minimal compared to doses given. News will say 150 cases popped up in WA state, but they don't mention it's out of like 1.6 million people with at least one dose.

It's sad that that information doesn't get out there.

Pfizer for me and no reaction to both. Talked with a guy on Saturday who said a neighbor of theirs developed bell’s palsy after the second Moderna shot.

Everyone needs to realize the vaccines, much like COVID, reacts differently on each person. Everyone was asking me after I got my second shot to let them know if I have any reaction to it.

If you want to talk reactions to shots, let’s talk about the shingles vaccine. The first one wiped me out for two days. Would have sworn it was COVID. That was after the first shot. The second one is what really affects people from what I have heard. Get that one in July.

Wife and I both got the 2nd dose of Pfizer on the same day. She felt like **** for 48 hours with full body aches, headache, and fatigue. I had a really sore arm and some chills for about 2-3 hours 24 hours after the shot. Otherwise felt fine.

The varying reactions to these shots are crazy. But not unexpected given people’s very different reactions to the virus too.

A couple of my classmates got vaccinated same day as me. They said the shingles vaccine wiped them both out for a week but no reaction to Moderna. I am way past due for that but everyone I know who has had shingles shot had a bad reaction.

My son who had Covid in November had no reaction to first Pfizer. Not sure if it makes any difference that he still has chronic fatigue, no appetite, and frequent nausea still from Covid.
