The Iowa State women's basketball team (12-9, 4-6 Big 12) returns home to Hilton Coliseum to take on the sixth-ranked Texas Longhorns (20-1, 9-1) on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m. The Cyclones have defeated the Longhorns in six of the last eight meetings.

Talent: Brent Blum (PxP), Molly Parrott (Color)
TV: FS2
Talent: Ron Thulin (PxP), Brenda Valengen (Color)

UT RPI 9, ISU nearly 100. So frustrating - OSU is 14 - what counts isn't how good you can play, it's how good you do play, every game. Only Magic and our record against Texas offer any hope - this team has lost only to Baylor. There are no stars because everyone is good.

I don't get FS2 on Comcast so may ask the guys at Senser's sports Grill to put the game up. They will be showing the men's game and last week put both up for us.

GREAT to hear Brent and Molly as the radio team! Wish it was those two every single game. Knowledgeable and accurate about what's going on. A dream team.

The team competed well for 7/8th of the game with the #6 team in the country. I see lots of positives in that. I would hope to see postgame comments from coach that talk about the good things the team did to make that happen.

For about 2/3 of the game, our defense had Texas out of sync. You felt like this could have been one of those fun games, like we've had in years past against Baylor and OU, if shots were falling, we could have been up 40-20 at half.

The team fought very hard and maybe just did wear down near the end. Unfortunately about the time we stopped the Texas run and got it to a couple possessions, the refs stopped calling fouls against Texas. Yet somehow the same or less contact was called on a foul on us. We had been ahead of Texas in FTs, and suddenly that gap closed. We had been battling on the boards with Texas, and suddenly couldn't get one. It seemed like the momentum shifted when the refs decided to start calling the game differently. Sure, we made mistakes we couldn't afford. But there also seemed to a shift in calls made or not made.

Followed the score at work. Excited at the half then, not so much. I'm positive, we're close, but not there this year. Jadda is what we'd hoped. O-fer from Kidd, need more shot makers. D is a positive.

I didn't get to watch this game even though I have FS2. My motorcycle riding buddies wanted to ride this morning. Sometimes Saturday is their only window. This wasn't the best day for it this week, but the temp got to 57 by 2 o-clock. I suppose it's a little cooler than that in Iowa.

Was at the game and at a time out Tina (Lead Official) went to Texas Bench and told them to quit complaining - the next EIGHT (I Think) fouls were called on ISU. It went from a four point ISU lead to a 10 point deficit.
