Twister Sister Summary - Previewing the Houston Cougars

Had some time this evening after watching a handful of fun games today so I looked into our next opponent - the Houston Cougars. Riding an 8 game losing streak and very shorthanded, the Cougs are suffering mightily.

I’ve watched one Houston game so are this year. They are bad. This should be a double digit win.

This is the kind of game where everyone (on line) tells the players it is an easy win. The coaches need to remind them that if you think you can just coast you can get beat as was noted in the write up they beat OSU. They need to put the game away early so we can play the bench and rest the starters so they are ready for Baylor on Saturday.

One of their healthy players is Summer Bostock. She was on my 2023 recruiting list out of Canada. She went to Maryland but played sparingly as a freshman, and then she transferred to Houston.

The preview mentions that Peyton McFarland is the only player available with size. Not only that, but she's the only player available not listed as a guard.

Leilani Augmon is a cousin of former NBA player Stacey Augmon. Leilani's sister, Aniyah, was a really solid player for New Mexico.

They did have eight players available for that game, although all but 6 of the 79 points they scored came from the six players who were available this past weekend.

If they get Augmon back, that'll be a big help. She scored those other six points against OSU, but also had 11 rebounds and 4 assists. She appears to be very limited offensively but pretty decent otherwise.

Indeed, precisely. It would be fantastic if the starters are able to be substituted enough to recuperate for Baylor, avoid neglecting UCF, and exact retribution on KSU.

The Houston preview doesn't mention Chevalier being out, so she might be back for this game. It appears Augmon is still out.
