First half started off very slow as the ladies were missing everything and KSU was taking advantage of turnovers. What was surprising, at least a little, was the benching of Moody. Am just going to guess it was an attention grabber by Coach Fen. Nakiah started in her place and the offense couldn't get much going out of the blocks. About five minutes in Moody came into the game and honestly appeared to be more focused. The offense started to warm up behind some deep shots by Brynn and the ladies would scrap their way back into the game eventually taking their first lead at 13-12. The rest of the half was a back and forth affair with the ladies grabbing a four point lead at 20-16 before going on a four minute scoring drought. The Purple cats retook the lead but ISU always seemed to have the answer, part of which were two nice treys by Durr. The ladies would shut down KSU and take a 37-30 lead only to lose focus (I.e. Not take care of the ball) and KSU ended the half on a 5-0 run. The real story of the first half was defense. The ladies were switching things up and were playing tight, tough D. Enough so that the KSU coach picked up a T for complaining we were too rough. Imagine that coming from him.

The ladies would come out strong in the second but the early story was foul trouble. Seanna and Brynn both picked up their third fouls and a ticket to the bench for both just five minutes in. Between those foul shots and a little careless ball handling would allow KSU to get right back in it again. But a trey by Kidd and a steal, basket and harm by Moody stretched it out again and the lead was 50-43 Sisters.

Even with them on the bench one thing that stayed consistent was the defensive effort. KSU was struggling against the sisters hustle. After one great stop Kidd batted a ball ahead to a streaking Moody to extend the lead. The ladies got hot from deep and this put pressure on KSU as they fell behind by 13. Add to it, the ladies were doing it without Seanna and Brynn and were sharing the ball finding the open player.

The clock became our friend and the ladies not only burnt clock, but got aggressive drawing fouls to reset the clock. The defense kept KSU frustrated and you could sense that team almost giving up with about two minutes to go. After a Moody steal and basket KSU emptied the bench and the game was over for all intents and purposes.
Final score ISU 79-59

Observations
POG - Moody. Coming off the bench you could see a change in her immediately. 20 points, 12 assists and 6 boards. Can we see this more often!

Free Throws! Perfection from the line. 11-11. Love it!

Bre continues to improve. She played salty D and contributed on the offensive end. 6 points and 3 boards won't stand out, but her play in the middle was solid.

Kidd had her second good game in a row. Solid D and made five of those deep shots.

Even though foul trouble plagued them, Seanna (8 pts, 6 bds, 3 steals) and Brynn (17 pts) had good games.

The Trey. The ladies were hotter than hot from deep in the second half. 14 total in the game. The Iowa State way.

Defense. This was some of the best defense I've seen from the ladies. Remove the Baylor game and you've seen two very good defensive efforts.

It was good to see Durr knock down some threes and play solid D against some very mobile guards. Also, noted that Maddie played quality minutes and got a couple rebounds and scored 4 points. The seniors all played good games even if Moody came off the bench and that Brynn was in foul trouble most of the time. Kidd has had back to back good performances and I hope that can continue through out the season. We need another scorer. Good win and now home for a revenge game with TCU.

I actually had that thought although the ladies have had games where they couldn't hit either. They seem to have overcome that unlike the men.
