where are you transferring from? maybe some of us can give you some ideas of how it will be different then.

i had an internship in iowa city and while i enjoyed it (minus the hawks) there was noticeable differences.

The only real question you need to answer first is; are you changing your affiliation to the Cyclones and denouncing the team to the east? If not, no help for you!!!:jimlad:

Are you looking for living on campus or off campus? If you are looking to live off campus I would recommend living near campus/Welch. I thought it was much better being able to walk to class, bars, and campus town restaurants then having to drive or take a bus.

I'm taking classes at DMACC this semester. I'd like to live on campus, just don't know if I'll be able to swing rent/utils regularly because I plan on only working part time to make sure I keep my grades up the first year there. But I did talk to a friend up there who I may move in with at UV appts. BTW, it says that transfers over 18 only have the option of the appts or the res halls on the other side of lincoln. I'll be 19 in july so I assume those are my options unless there is some kind of cutoff. I'd like to be on or as close to campus as possible.

Oh, and I'll be up tomorrow to meet with a ConE advisor. Can I park in the lot across the street from Town to the east?

You made the right choice. As a fellow Construction Engineer, you'll enjoy making fun of the CE's and what a bunch of Dorks they are!

Haha!

Which advisor are you meeting with?

There are pay meters at the armory which i used a lot when dropping off papers, etc.

Where you kinda want to live is also dependent on if you party/ cook at home a lot/ go to the grocery store a couple times a week. Apartments are pretty abundant so you can find one close to your preferences. I enjoyed living in old houses in campustown partywise but bill wise it sucked. The heating on those can run hundreds a month...

Kristin Mauro. Are there any free visitor lots around campus? I don't mind walking. Lets me take a look around on the way there.

I would NEVER want to live at University Village....if you want to live in the dorms go with Maple Willow Larch or Eaton or something along those lines....if you would like to meet some new people and be close to where the nightlife is stay as far from UV as possible

There isn't any free visitor parking on campus during the day. You'll have to pay to park at the mu parking ramp or the armory. The only other thing I can think of is on North Hyland, but that would be a trek. I love living in an old run down campustown house. Doesn't get much better. We run our heat at 60 to save money. Cold as balls.

I'm not a partier or drinker, so that doesn't matter too much. I'm thinkin that if i get a meal plan, I'll go 10 or 7 with a lot of flex cash. I also usually keep some groceries stocked up so I can throw something together in my room when I dont feel like going out.

Idk if this makes a difference, but I started in ConE at Missouri Western State, but found out that the program was crap, so I decided to get out early and get in here. Timing was off, so I missed the spring deadlines. So I ended up grabbing some gen eds at DMACC for spring and summer to keep on track for 4-5 year grad.

I'll keep that in mind. What I'm confused about is that the Admissions site says that the U drive and Richardson res halls are off limits to new students over 18, but available to continuing students. My friend really isn't a partier and he likes to eat healthy and work out, so UV might fit him well.

Edit: I'm 18, turn 19 in july. Will be a soph at transfer time.
