So I normally would post this but I just saw prohm at the gas station looking about as pissed as humanly possible. I didn’t say a word but I was wearing an isu sweatshirt and he looked at me a few times almost waiting for some interaction. I thought about saying something encouraging but what can you say after a loss like that.

“I hear **ANY OTHER SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY** is nice this time of year!”

Well, I guess he's not out of gas.

Lol, I didn't even know they lost until now. I'm not bursting, I'm amused that thousands of other people are now starting to see what a few of us have seen for years now.
I couldn’t believe the number of people that thought he did a good job last year. It definitely was eye opening that everyone sees the game differently I guess.

In the human element of it, you feel bad for a guy who's working hard and has the best intentions. I don't think anyone dislikes Prohm as a person, and really they shouldn't. He's seemed to have quite a positive impact on players in his time at ISU, which is really great and it's something to appreciate.

He's brought on some really amazing memories at ISU and it was fun watching the 2016-17 team really come together and play some good ball between a really intriguing group.

This FAMU game is unacceptable on all levels, but if some of these losses at least included the players flying around and doing everything they can, people might feel differently. But the players in these types of losses have looked nothing like that. Performance matters.

Well, might as well post in this thread tonight, since I have in the others...

No excuses for tonight. None. Zilch. Zero. That includes not having Haliburton.

I truly hope that tonight is not the beginning of the end for Prohm, but this is an absolute low point for Cyclone basketball in recent history, and that includes the McDermott era.

I could do without the Prohm haters practically spraining their shoulders for patting themselves on their backs so hard.

Honestly I thought effort by the guys was overall was there. Hell I would say T Lewis played his ass off. He got some REALLY tough boards in traffic and trailed fast break to alter shots or helped weak side to challenge.

So if the effort was there, Prohm recruiting and player development must be really bad then.

Yeah didn't think players weren't playing hard tonight...more referring to other losses where they just look lost and disjointed.

Sneaky Prohm drops in Halliburton name multiple times in the press conference. Saying the loss happened because we were missing him.

Bruh you are P5 team at home against a 28 point underdog who has 1 win so far. You should be able to beat those teams if your entire starting five is hurt, but you have no idea hot to coach, so it does not matter.

You must've watched a different press conference than I did. He in no way said the loss happened because they were missing Haliburton. In fact, he said it shouldn't have mattered that they were missing Haliburton.

I'm as annoyed by the coaching in this game as anyone but what you said is just not true.

Effort doesn't equal execution. I thought for the most part the effort was there, especially from T Lew.

The the execution was horrible. Lazy passes on the outside, driving to deep and then making bad passes, and no one moving around on offense (other than T Lew). You could see Prohm on the sidelines telling them what to run and then getting frustrated when they didn't do what they were supposed to.

So Prohm is losing his team and not getting through to players? It’s gotta be something on the coach cause it takes a hell of a lot to lose at home to a 1-9 MEAC conference team

I think you are trying to hard here. Players not executing doesn't equal losing the team. I used to sit a the LB room with guys who didn't execute their assignments consistently and it had nothing to do with losing the team.

This makes me wonder how coachable this team is, if they keep on failing to do what they are told to do over and over again.

I do remember TH being referred to as the coach on the floor during the games, and Hines even wrote a snippet about TH coaching up Jackson during practice.

Maybe TH should have been calling the game tonight from the bench.

This program is a dumpster fire. End of story.

Yeah.

We finished 10th in 2017-18

We finished 6th last year (with 4 guys will get at least a cup of coffee in the NBA)

We’ll likely finish 10th this year and probably next.

That qualifies as a dumpster fire when you possess one of the biggest home court advantages in college basketball.

I think it mostly comes down to not getting players to consistently execute simple things. And it's lots of guys over multiple seasons, so what the staff is doing isn't working. To me it's not gameplanning, it's not recruiting, it's not developing players' skills, and it's not motivating guys to play hard. The things that are so basic that these guys fail to do on both ends I'm not sure the game plan matters. Like I said, FAMU was living in passing lanes all night and there wasn't any backcutting. Got away with moving screens and had poor screens because guards always took off too early. Double teams that are easy to split, or bailing on double teams to go guard open space in the corner.
