I haven’t been a Prohm guy from the beginning, however I was going to back him through this season. I thought he deserved it. After Iowa I began calling for his head. After tonight I don’t have anything new to say. He should be released immediately.

2015-2016: Beat two double digit seeds with a top 5 roster. Lost to Virginia. Acceptable

2016-2017: Fairly loaded roster, lost an extremely winnable game to Purdue because of coaching malpractice. 4 out of 10.

2017-2018: Just the worst of the worst. We all gave him a pass... but the pass should not be that bad. Borderline Unacceptable.

2018-2019: Top 3 roster of the decade in my opinion. Didn’t win an NCAA game, went 9-9 in conference. Coaching malpractice.

2019-2020: Whatever you want to call it, it’s not remotely acceptable.

Let him go. There’s coaches in the CIML that would have this roster with a better record right now.

I'm not disputing what you wrote, but that is pretty much the case at every big school, isn't it?

It is true at every school but JP has a tendency to slow play some of their collective desires. If the decommitts are confirmed then CSP got fired tonight. It may take 12-18 months for JP to ratify that decision but he has lost the many of the major players (donors) and the average season ticket holder.

Big boy donors at ISU are pissed. Jamie likes to hoot and holler at pep rally’s and act like he’s got a big dong but these donors that write the big checks are the real ones who pull the strings at ISU
I don’t know where Artic Zone got his info, but I’ll chime in with what I have heard. It’s similar.

Donors run the show at some schools. At Iowa State they have a say, but JP and the pres really run the show. Donors just have influence.

After tonight it’s my belief that the donors will begin to use that influence. Some were onboard with Prohm and some were off (before tonight), but they weren’t really in the extremes. That just changed from what I’ve heard. People aren’t just jumping ship, the ship sank. If Prohm makes it to next season, it won’t be without massive callings for his head from the $$$$$.

If players are not executing then get kids in there that will. Next man in, what does the team have to lose?

most people could see this coming based off the past 2 years...

Those donors better be ready to pony up the cash if they want Prohm gone. Better accept the fact he'll be here next year.

Looks like JP backed the wrong pony last year when he could have had Fred and Prohm pushed him for an extension.

I mean there's no way he was getting fired after he won the big 12 tournament. That win may end up being a bit of a pyrrhic victory for us

Wait, did I miss something? Was thinking last night I’d sit tight for now given the class coming in but if commits bail pull the band aid off.

Hey gang, happy new year!

Just stopped by to say this fair minded, level headed Cyclones fan got the sign I needed last night. It's over my friends. JP can make the move as soon as he feels is right but Steve Prohm isn't the answer for ISU Basketball.

I was definitely a Prohm supporter. Not saying he's completely lost my support, but last night moved the needle more than my needle has ever been moved. I'll check back a week from tonight, and if we've somehow won two games I'll be back. If not, full apathy mode.

I have never been a Prohm die hard but I wasn’t against him either. Thought he seems to be a great person and great recruiter. However, I’m out until there is a new coach. Unacceptable loss at Hilton. I am just disgusted.

Agree, if we get spanked the next 2 games I will just check out.

Honestly I thought effort by the guys was overall was there. Hell I would say T Lewis played his ass off. He got some REALLY tough boards in traffic and trailed fast break to alter shots or helped weak side to challenge.

go back and watch it again. FAM players are all diving after loose balls and long rebounds while our guys watch.

This. It’s been instilled in the program that is acceptable to watch loose balls in rebounds instead of executing fundamentals and hustling. Rebounding and defense are skills that have to be taught, hard (and correctly), and clearly it’s not an emphasis for this staff. If fans objectively asked themselves “are defense and rebounding pillars which serve as THE core foundation of the program” - the answer is an obvious ‘no’. Granted, it wasn’t for Fred either, but he could counteract much, much better.
